Combine the char siu marinade ingredients - minced garlic, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, Shaoxing wine, 5-spicy, sesame oil, salt, white pepper & red food coloring.

Add pat dried chicken thighs & marinate for at least 2 hours, or up to overnight. The longer the more flavorful you chicken will be!

Bake Char Siu Chicken at 375° F (190° C) on a foil-lined baking tray with wire rack for about 15 minutes.

Cook char siu marinade with extra honey for 5-10 minutes. The sauce should be a thick sticky glaze. Cover and turn off heat.

Remove bbq chicken from oven, brush with basting sauce & bake for another 15 minutes. Repeat for another time so chicken turns caramelized & cooked through.
