Easy Char Siu Pork

1

Combine the char siu marinade ingredients - garlic, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, shaoxing wine, 5-spice, sesame oil, salt, white pepper & red food coloring.

2

Cut pork shoulder or butt into 3-inch wide logs WITH the grain. Then, use a fork to poke the pork on each side.

3

Marinate pork in the marinade for overnight (or 8-12 hours) in the fridge. The longer the better for the best flavor!

4

Bake at 350° F (177° C) on a foil-lined baking tray. Place marinated Char Siu Pork on the baking racks (saving the marinade), then bake for 30 minutes.

5

Cook Char Siu Marinade with extra honey. Cook marinade for 5-10 minutes. The sauce should be a thick sticky glaze. Cover and turn off heat.

6

Remove pork from oven, baste with char siu sauce, then bake for another 15 minutes. Repeat 2 more times so the Char Siu Pork turns out  caramelized outside & SUPER juicy inside.

6

Remove Char Siu Pork from the oven and allow to rest for about 10  minutes before cutting into it. Enjoy with hot fresh rice and/or veggies!
