🥘Ingredients

  • Peanut Butter: The KEY ingredient to your peanut sauce, so use your favorite. I prefer using smooth peanut butter to have more control over the crunchy texture. Add JUST enough crushed peanuts to make your heart sing 😉
  • Soy Sauce: Using regular soy sauce here for saltiness and umami.
  • Sesame Oil: This intensifies the nuttiness in your peanut sauce – a little goes a long way!
  • Rice Vinegar: Just a splash of rice vinegar brightens up the peanut sauce and balances the rich creaminess from the peanut butter and saltiness from the soy sauce!
  • Chili Oil: An absolute MUST for spicy peanut sauce! Again, use your favorite here but I gotta say, it’s tough to beat homemade chili oil because it’s SO easy to make and adjust perfectly to your taste buds!

🔪 Instructions

Make this easy peanut sauce recipe by whisking together all the ingredients in a mixing bowl, then gradually add water until it’s your desired consistency. Keep in mind, the more water you add, the more diluted the flavor gets too, so taste as you go!

If you prefer your peanut sauce with extra crunch and texture, mix in crushed peanuts.

If you like your peanut sauce extraaaa smooth, combine the ingredients in a food processor or blender

I love this simple peanut sauce as is (and also hate washing the extra dishes honestly lol). But you do you boo – you are the sauce boss!

Once the peanut sauce is just how you like, you’re ready to dip, dunk, and drizzle over everythingggg!

💭 Recipe FAQs

Store your peanut sauce in an airtight container (I love using small mason jars) in the fridge for up to 10 days.

Yes! And I hope you do! Drizzle in your favorite chili oil (store-bought or homemade), sriracha, or sambal to make it a spicy peanut sauce.

Peanut sauce thickens over time, but you can thin it out with a splash of water until it reaches your desired consistency.

You can enjoy it cold from the fridge or warm! If it’s thickened too much in the fridge, portion out the amount you need and add enough water to loosen up the sauce but don’t add too much so it won’t get too diluted.

For warm peanut sauce, portion out what you need and gently heat it in the microwave for a few seconds until just warm.
